Yavor Kirilov was born in 1986 in Sofia. Currently, he lives in the village of Lozen, where he has accomplished his primary education. He graduated from the Lyubomir Miletich High School in Sofia with a profile in Humanities. Then he was enrolled at the University of National and World Economy, where he majored in Political Science, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree. He obtained an M.A. degree in Political Management from the Sofia University of St. Kliment Ochridski.

Yavor displayed strong interest in social and civic activity yet in his years of study. Being one of the founder-members of the Ego Politico Students Club, simultaneously he started participation in political campaigns held with the purpose of affirming Bulgaria as a free country based on its historical roots.

At that time the idea arose, and Yavor, along with a group of young people – students from all over the country, initiated the establishment of the Vrana Youth Monarchical Club, for which they received explicit permission from King Simeon II. Later on, this club grew into a national one, and now it is known under the name of Crown Club. Over the years he has been the initiator and organizer of the following events:

  • Reading and a walk in the footsteps of King Ferdinand I in the mountain of Rila, 2013;
  • Cleaning and restoration of the tomb of Queen Eleonora in the Boyana Church, 2012;
  • Membership in the Organising Committee for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the death of King Boris III, 2013;
  • Placing memorial benches on the occasion of the same anniversary, on historical sites around the country, of which a visit by the King has been attested;
  • Collecting memories for the publication of the Collection on the occasion of the 70th anniversary from the blessed demise of H. M. Boris III, King of the Bulgarians (2013) edited by Prof. Petar Stoyanovich, Chairman of the Royal Historical Society.

Besides, Yavor Kirilov has participated in many students forums and conferences dedicated to the history of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom and historical memory. Beyond the interests in the field of protection of historical heritage and archeology, political science and constitutional law, Yavor Kirilov is a proficient beekeeper, actively engaged in a public campaign on the protection and preservation of bees. He delivers lectures and trainings on the topic.

Since 2014, he has been the private secretary of H.M. King Simeon II, in charge of the Royal Chancellery in the Vrana Palace. Holder of the Knight’s Cross of the Pro Merito Melitensi Order of the Sovereign Military Order of St. Ioan of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta (Diploma of the Grand Master №
