Lyubka Taseva (born in 1948, in Sofia)
Private Secretary to H. M. Giovanna of blessed memory, Queen of Bulgaria and Princess of Savoy (1993-2000).
She graduated in Spanish Philology with a second major in French Philology from the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski (1971).
She worked for four years in Havana, Cuba as a translator (1972-1976).
Teacher of Spanish at the Center for Study of Foreign Languages (1977-1980).
She went to work in Mozambique for the Agrokomplekt Company (1980-1982).
Part-time teacher of Portuguese at the Trade Union School in Sofia (1982-1986).
She was Editor in the Portuguese editorial section of the Directorate for Broadcasting Abroad at the Bulgarian National Radio.
In 1990 she settled in Portugal, where she attended a post-graduate study at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Lisbon.
Correspondent to the Bulgarian Crown and Support newspapers for Spain and Portugal.
Member of the Union of Foreign Press in Lisbon.
Mrs. Taseva was Private Secretary to H.M. Queen Giovanna from September 1993 until the Queen died in 2000.
She worked on a replacement as a Private Secretary to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria (2001-2005).
Member of the Union of Translators in Bulgaria.
Member of the Union of Journalists in Bulgaria.
Part-time lecturer in Spanish at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridsky and New Bulgarian University.
Co-author together with Assoc. Prof. Ivaylo Shalafov, PhD, of the biographical book “Иоанна Българска – Царицата на Милосърдието” (Giovanna of Bulgaria – The Queen of Mercy), edited by Monteki Publishing House, Sofia, 2007.
Holder of:
• The Ladies’ Cross of the Royal Order of St. Alexander (Diploma of His Majesty King Simeon II № 89/3 December 2018),
• The Ladies’ Cross of Pro Merito Melitensi Order of the Sovereign Military Order of St. Ioan of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta (Diploma of the Grand Master, 2011),
• Ladies’ Cross of the Order of Italian Solidarity (Diploma of the President of the Italian Republic, 2006).
